The International Criminal Court (ICC) announced the launch of an online platform that will empower citizens to submit complaints against Israeli perpetrators. The platform, set to be launched on Wednesday, will provide an avenue for citizens to present evidence, including photos and videos, showcasing the alleged crimes committed by the occupation forces. This significant step aims to facilitate the submission of complaints to the court for consideration and reinforce a deterrent stance against Israel.
Commenting on the platform's launch, Omar Awadallah, Assistant Foreign Minister of the United Nations and its specialized organizations, emphasized the ongoing necessity to stand in solidarity with the international community against the continuing racist policies of the Israeli government. He urged citizens to utilize the platform to document and report the occupation's crimes, ensuring that urgent protection is provided to affected individuals in accordance with international covenants.
B'Tselem spokesman, Karim Jubran, highlighted the importance of documenting the crimes committed by the occupation forces in the ICC, even though accountability for war criminals in the occupying state has faced challenges. Jubran called on citizens to courageously submit their testimonies and reports about war crimes, emphasizing that such heinous acts must never be allowed to evade justice.
Shawan Jabarin, Director of Al-Haq Foundation, affirmed that all communications and complaints received from citizens will be submitted to the Office of the Public Prosecutor of the ICC. This collective effort aims to apply additional pressure on the Prosecutor's Office to ensure the thorough consideration of each case. Jabarin emphasized that the pursuit of justice for victims of the Israeli occupation will persist, and if individual cases are not adequately addressed, measures to raise awareness and demand accountability will be pursued.
